A Photographer's Perspective
Motown Record Label is one of America's greatest treasure vaults of Black-American Music. From Stevie Wonder,
The Jackson 5 & Marvin Gaye to The Supremes, The Four Tops and The Marvelettes, Motown was a powerhouse in the music industry that changed the way music was written, performed and recorded.
Stax Records is considered the record label that really popularized and brought Soul and R&B music to mass popularity. Artists like Otis Redding, Al Green, The Staples Sisters, Booker T & The MG's and Sam & Dave all brought unforgetable songs into our lives. Stax was considered a competitor to Motown; though in reality both record companies complimented each through promoting Black-American music.
